Barriers & Borders

Welcome to Barriers & Borders!

Forum and Shiva’s love story began in an architecture office in India, where they first met. Being from different parts of the country, travelling to meet each other was the only way to connect. And so over the years, travelling grew into a tradition – a mutual way of life!

Since then, they’ve worn many hats – architects, travel writers, and content creators. But for the past few years, their shared curiosity to explore the world has blossomed into this beautiful space on the internet – Barriers and Borders. Along the way, they’ve connected with like-minded individuals, communities, organisations, and brands, all sharing their passion for meaningful, responsible travel that prioritises nature, local communities, and the preservation of unique places.

Barriers and Borders is born out of Forum & Shiva’s constant inquisitiveness and endless desire to experience, live and learn from every remote corner of our marvelous planet. B&B, as they call it, is not only limited to their curiosity and love for travel; it seeks to challenge the barriers and borders that society has constructed over generations.

Responsible Travel &
Meaningful Storytelling

As destinations around the world gear up to fight overtourism, rising waste, damaged natural ecosystems, and climate-related natural disasters, it’s critical to look at how we travel, the way we talk about places, and the stories we share with our closed ones.

Barriers and Borders is a responsible travel blog, where we share slow, soulful travel experiences that respect nature, celebrate traditional wisdom and support local communities. Our stories don’t fuel the bucket list or checklist mindset.

Join us in reshaping travel into a force for good – for places and for people. 💚
